2016 Grant Application
The Time to Give Back “TGB” initiative was established by Senator Marlon Kimpson and his wife Kimberlyn, to provide eligible non-profit organizations serving the citizens in Senate District 42 with grant funding from his senatorial compensation. The grants awarded will range between $250 – $1,000. To be considered for a Time to Give Back (“TGB”) per grant, the organization must meet the following criteria:
- A non-profit organization with a current 501(C) (3) public charity designation by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
- The non-profit organization must serve the residents of South Carolina Senate District 42 (click here to see a map of Senate District 42).
To apply for a grant, please follow these steps.
- Step 1: Complete the Time to Give Back application posted on marlonkimpson.com; and
- Step 2: Submit scanned copy of non-profit organization’s 501(C)(3) public charity designation documents to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Completed applications must be submitted before 5:00pm EST on Friday, October 14, 2016. All materials must be submitted electronically including verification of the organization’s 501(C)(3)status.
Applications will be evaluated October 15-November 14, 2016. Decisions on grant recipients will made by the TGB committee on or around November 15, 2016.

Step 3: Decisions announced: on or around November 15
The total amount awarded will be the net senatorial compensation (after taxes, benefits and senate parking). By applying for this grant, there is no guarantee that your organization will be selected by the TGB committee.
