Charleston, South Carolina — State Senator Marlon Kimpson (D-Charleston) announced today that he will be hosting a town hall meeting in Senate District 42 with Democratic Presidential Candidate, Hillary Clinton. The Charleston Democratic Party and the House Democratic Delegation will be serving as co-hosts for the event. The event will take place on Thursday, February 25th, at the Royal Baptist Church Family Life Center, 4750 Abraham Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Presidential Candidates Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley have appeared previously at Kimpson’s Town Halls. Kimpson, who has been campaigning around South Carolina on Clinton’s behalf, endorsed her two weeks ago citing for her track record of fighting for children and working class families.
Clinton enjoys broad support from the Charleston legislative delegation including endorsements from Senator Margie Bright Matthews, and Representatives Robert Brown, David Mack III, and Seth Whipper.
“During the town hall we will explore the narrative that highlights her position on economic empowerment, preventing gun violence, wealth creation, and social justice,” said Kimpson. “I’m very eager to grant the citizens in the Lowcountry the opportunity to engage with who I believe will be the next President of the United States,” added Kimpson.
